Villa Afroditi Comments

Cretan hospitality at its best

This is a wonderfully relaxing, very well maintained villa made all the more attractive by the wonderful hospitality shown by the owners (the home-made moussaka was a real delight!). The pool is modern and very well-maintained and the barbecue and table tennis made the outdoor facilities among the best we have experienced. Inside we found the kitchen very well-equipped and there was plenty of space to relax. With several tavernas and supermarkets within easy reach, the beautiful harbour of Rethymnon only a short drive and plenty of other attractions within easy reach we would be delighted to recommend this villa. Thank you Stella and family for making our stay such a happy and enjoyable one.

Relaxing and peaceful…

We all thoroughly enjoyed our week at this beautiful house. When we arrived, the owner welcomed us with a traditional glass of raki and showered us with gifts of a huge chocolate cake, olive oil, wine and olives of their own production… it was all delicious and we enjoyed them during our stay. Everything went very well, we enjoyed the pool and barbecue meals and even one night our son-in-law made a couple of pizzas in the bread oven outside! What a treat. It is a quiet peaceful area and the land surrounding the house is safe for young children to explore, you can walk in the local area and meet the horse, sheep and goats, which the children loved. The local village with its shops and friendly taverna is walkable but best reached by car as the return journey is all uphill. If you have never experienced a Greek frappe (iced coffee) we can recommend it!
It is really a lovely part of the world and we hope one day to be back.
